Armenian Finance Minister and International Finance Corporation delegation discuss wide range of cooperation issues

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Finance Minister Tigran Khachatryan received International Finance Corporation Regional Director Ivana Fernandes Duarte, Armenia Office Director Arman Barkhudaryan and Armenia Economic Growth Program Director Arsen Nazaryan on December 1.
As ARMENPRESS was informed by the Ministry of Finance of Armenia, greeting the guests, Minister Khachatryan highly appreciated the involvement of the International Finance Corporation in the investment programs implemented in Armenia. As key orientations, the Minister designated the development of the capital market, the programs implemented with the private sector, alternative energies, cooperation between the State and the private sector, the development of SMEs and the field of high technologies. .
Ivana Fernandes Duarte thanked the minister for the welcome and mentioned that this was her first visit to Armenia in this position and that currently the formats for possible IFC participation in the reforms outlined by the government of the Republic of Armenia are under discussion. Duarte also attached importance to the cooperation with the Armenian government, mentioning that the IFC considers the measures aimed at simplifying the financial sector, the field of sustainable energy and the regulation of the investment environment in Armenia as a priority.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues related to the process and prospects for cooperation between the Armenian government and the International Finance Corporation.
