-The Auric industrial conference ends

Aurangabad, September 30:

Proposals have been submitted for the creation of a textile park on 1000 acres in the Bidkin phase as well as a food park on 168 acres. Efforts are also being made to bring in the international finance company which will be set up on 1,000 acres in Bidkin by partnering with the World Bank, said Suresh Kakani, Managing Director of Aurangabad Industrial Township Limited (AITL). He interacted with the media after the conclusion of the one-day Auric 2022 industrial conference held on Friday in the city of Auric.

Kakani said the conference focused on three major sectors, namely information technology (IT), food processing and textiles. Marathwada is a leader in the production of soybeans, cotton, cinnamon apple and pomegranate. There is great potential for local SMEs to set up food processing, seed processing and pulp manufacturing units. Processed products will also be an opportunity to give farmers a good rate for their products. The region is also a leader in cotton production. The textile park can also be a production center for Paithani Sarees, practical and ready-to-wear crafts. A proposal has been submitted to the central government for the establishment of a textile park on 1000 acres at Bidkin. Local pharma and IT manufacturers have been approached to invest in Auric. In addition, a conference of the 50 major IT industries will be held in November for the commercialization of Auric.

Marketing Working Group

To increase the commercial potential of the Auric city, the administration of the AITL will work in coordination with the industrial associations including CII, CMIA and MASSIA. The working group will mainly focus on marketing Auric to major industrial players in various sectors and informing them of the availability of land and infrastructure.

175 companies invest in Shendra

Till date, the Shendra phase of the DMIC has made investments of Rs 7,020 crore from 175 companies. At present, 12 enterprises have started production, and 50 units are under construction.

Competence center in Auric

Work to set up a joint center of competence between CII, MIDC and AITL is in progress. The center will be identified as CII Auric MIDC Multiskill Institute (CAMMSI) and will respond to local industry demands for skills and workforce retraining. Three acres of land have been set aside for Shendra for the center.

Proposal to NHAI for roads

Bidkin’s belt has more land available than Shendra. Moreover, since the proposed Aurangabad-Pune road passes near the Bidkin Belt, it will benefit industries. The widening of the road from Aurangabad to Paithan has been pending for many years. Potholes also affect investment in Auric City. Hence, a proposal has been submitted to the National Highway Authority of India for the widening of the road.
